On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, we would like to invite you to be part of 6th World Congress for Psychotherapy (WCP 2011) by way of participating as a Sponsor or Exhibitor at the event.

About the Congress 

WCP 2011 will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre from 24-28 August 2011 with the theme ‘World Dreaming’. It will be the largest Congress of its kind ever held in Australasia with an expectation of approximately 2,000 delegates. The theme, ‘World Dreaming’, resonates with the historical origins of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy with its links to understanding of the mind and its processes. It also connects to the belief systems and worldview of the Australian Indigenous tradition. Perhaps most importantly it implies an imaginative engagement with the environment and with each other from which both healing and growth may flow.

‘World Dreaming’ will bring together many of the leaders from the fields of psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychology and counselling. It will provide an opportunity to bring together current ideas on a diverse range of topics including trauma, reconciliation, neuroscience, infant development, healing traditions, training, conflict resolution, the integration of psychotherapy with other modalities and consumer perspectives. The spirit of ‘World Dreaming’ is one of mutual recognition and the sharing of ideas. Perhaps a tradition as old as “The Dreaming” may influence the modern discipline of psychotherapy and perhaps the modern human sciences can inform our ways of working between cultures.

Delegate Demographics 

Over 2,000 high-calibre delegates are expected to attend the Congress. All delegates are involved in the field of Psychotherapy and will include:

• Psychiatrists and other medical practitioners 35%
• Psychologists 40%
• Psychotherapy counsellors and other professions 25%
